NGO North Land is co-applicant to NGO Green Home on the implementation of project “Capacity Building for Better Environment in Montenegro”. Project is funded by IPA 2014 Civil Society Facility Montenegro Programme.
The main objective of the project: Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations in Montenegro in order to influence the process of approaching the EU by strengthening public participation and monitoring of negotiations for Chapter 27-Environment.
Specific objectives: To increase the capacity of civil society organizations in Montenegro in order to be active participants in the process of approchement and to influence policies related to water quality, waste management, nature protection, climate change and energy through special training and national networking policy analysis and advocacy by existing networks and civil society organizations.
The main project activities:
– Analysis of policy and position documents of organizations in the field of nature protection;
– Analysis of policy and position documents of organizations in the field of energy and climate change
– National training on policy analysis and advocacy;
– National Training on the legal instruments and the EU horizontal legislation in the environmental sector;
– Establishing a “coalition of civil society organizations to monitor the Chapter 27 (CoC27)”;
– Meetings CoC27 twice a year;
– Monitoring of Chapter 27 and the EU accession process through the evaluation and comment
– Raising awareness through conventional media and social networks
– A national advocacy campaign on the theme of energy and climate change;
– A national advocacy campaigns on the subject of waste;
– A national advocacy campaign on the theme of water management;
– A national advocacy campaigns on the subject of Natura 2000;
– Four national meeting of interested parties (round tables);
– Sub grants to strengthen the capacity of small NGOs regarding advocacy;
– Mentoring and training for smaller organizations of civil society.
