Project – Sustainable use of water in the Black Sea Montenegro

The overall objective of the project is to give contribution to sustainable development through education and public participation in decision-making in the field of environmental protection, in Berane.

Specific objectives:

1. Improved knowledge level of primary school students and three citizens of the local community in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, through education, media campaigns, setting up municipal and park furniture, as well as other activities related to raising awareness for a period of five months.

2.Uspostavljen sustainable model for the role of the public, especially the public, business and civil sector in the implementation of sustainable development at the local level, for a period of five months.
The target groups of the project are students of three elementary schools in Berane, Vuk Karadzic Primary School, Primary School Radomir Mitrovic and Primary School Vukasin Radunovic, three representatives of the local community (MZ Stari Grad, Beranselo MZ, MZ drums), members of the Roma – Egyptian (RE) population , councilor of the Municipal Assembly of Berane, representatives of NGOs, representatives of the business sector.

Expected results of the project are:

1.1 Improved level of knowledge of students by 30% and three citizens of the local community for 20% of the area of environmental protection and sustainable development.

1.2 Cleaned chosen location and placed three sets of bins for selective waste collection and three benches

2.1 Improved level of knowledge of the representatives of the public, business and civil sector by 30%, on the importance of the application of the Aarhus Convention at the local level.

2.2 Established network of environmental organizations, which will continue to work on implementing the concept of sustainable development at the local level.

As the donor has not paid the total amount of funds allocated, the project is at an early stage.
