In the past few days, four chess tournaments for children and youth, including people with disabilities, were held in the municipalities of Berane, Plav, Petnjica and Andrijevica, organized by the NGO “North Land” from Berane and NGO “Equivalent” from Podgorica, with logistical support and coordination of the Chess Club “7. October ” from Podgorica. By organizing these chess tournaments, with the donation of chess boards for blind and partially sighted people and software for blind and partially sighted people to clubs in those cities, we believe that we have contributed to the integration of PWD in sports activities, and society in general. We have to organize another tournament in Rožaje, and then a simultaneous tournament with the IBCA World Paralympic Chess Champion for the visually impaired, Predrag Nikač, in Podgorica, which will be played by the winners of these five tournaments. These tournaments were organized through the project “Our move”, which the NGO “North Land” from Berane which implement it in partnership with the NGO “Equivalent” from Podgorica, and is funded by the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights for 2020.
