The project “Climate change – the challenge of the future” is funded through the project “Together for a Better Climate in Montenegro” implemented with the financial support of the European Union.
Overall objective: Reducing the negative impact of climate change in Montenegro, thanks to an improved regulatory framework defining adaptation and mitigation measures as the main mechanisms for combating climate change and a more participatory and transparent decision-making process involving civil society organizations (CSOs) and increased media attention on the subject.
Specific Objective 1: Strengthening the knowledge and capacity of civil society organizations in the field of climate change in order to be able to play a constructive role in decision-making processes at the local and national level, all accompanied by increased media attention on the topic and awareness raising of Montenegrin citizens on negative impacts of climate change;
Specific Objective 2: Strengthening knowledge and awareness of agricultural farms from the north of Montenegro on the impact of the agriculture sector on climate change, and strengthening the knowledge and awareness of the decision-makers in the Berane Municipality to recognize the importance of integrating adaptation measures into the town’s development and governance plans.
