The project “Small School of Eco Leadership”

April 22, 2018A two-day “Small School of Eco Leadership” was organized in Berane, for 15 young people from the municipalities of Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Rozaje, Plav, Petnjica and Gusinje.
Youth from 15 to 29 years of age from youth clubs and associations, high school students and students, representatives of NGOs, young political parties, representatives of relevant local and state administration bodies from the territory of the mentioned municipalities have had the right to participate in the school.
Aleksandar Perovic, director of NGO “Ozon” from Niksic and Milorad Mitrovic, director of NGO “Breznica” from Pljevlja, were trainers. They are familiar with the basic knowledge, but also practical examples and experiences in the field of environmental protection, public advocacy and leadership. To the Montenegrin society they are known as big environmental activists, but also leaders in their work – protect the environment.
After receiving the certificate for successful participation, School participants expressed their satisfaction that they had the opportunity to be part of this, for the region of the northeast of Montenegro, rare educational activitiy, which imposed new patterns of thinking and action. They also stressed the need to re-organize this school next year, bearing in mind the fact that Montenegro is a one step to opening of Chapter 27.
The organization of this school was helped by the Aarhus Center in Berane, in whose premises it was maintained.
This activity was realized through the project “Small School of Eco-Leadership”, which was supported by the Ministry of Sports with funds for 2018.
