Roundtable “My town and Negotiation Chapter 27” held

Representatives of the NGO “North Land” held a round table named “My Town and Negotiation Chapter 27”.

The goal of organizing this event was to encourage the dialogue of all relevant stakeholders in environmental protection from the Berane municipality (relevant secretariats, utility company, communal inspection, communal police, non-governmental organizations, youth offices and Aarhus center).

In addition to discussing topics related to the improvement of the state of the environment in general, the upcoming local government obligations in this area were also discussed, in line with the opening of Negotiation chapter 27 – Environment.

In support of this discussion, participants of the Round Table were presented Guideline that was developed for the needs of local self-governments, which speaks about the obligations that Montenegrin municipalities will have regarding the implementation of environmental protection policies at the local level.

In addition to analyzing existing problems in this sector, identifying concrete proposals for improving the situation in all segments of the environment, relevant projects implemented by the Managers’ Department were presented.

During the discussion, we mentioned the initiative for signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between all relevant actors in our municipality in order to get this process on quality and dynamics.

The round table is the last activity realized within the project “Cvjetni park – the mirror of my town”, which is financed by the funds of the Municipality of Berane for 2018.

At the very beginning of this event, the pupils of the elementary school “Radomir Mitrović”, members of the ecological section, presented the results of the workshop held last week under the auspices of this same project.
