NGOs North Land, with its partners, held a working meeting of the Coalition 27 in Berane.

The meeting presented a draft version of the Report from the shadows referring to Chapter 27 – Environment, as well as the working version of the Analysis of policies relating to climate change and energy. The Report assessed the activities carried out by relevant institutions in this area and make recommendations for strengthening the process of transposition and implementation of EU legislation covered by Chapter 27. It was noted that this document seeks to clarify the essential problems in individual areas covered by this Chapter, and point to the need that during the negotiations process take into account about them. A particular focus of the this report is given to the field of horizontal legislation, waste management, water management and nature protection. The meeting also discussed the manner of presentation of the documents in the future.

The Coalition consists of 21 non-governmental organizations from Montenegro, namely: Breznica, Center of environmental initiatives, Center for Development of Durmitor, the Center for Bird Protection and Study, Montenegrin Association of Ecologists, The village comes to life, the Association Dr. Martin Schneider – Jacoby, Association of Young Ecologists, Environmental movement OZON, EXPEDITIO, Green Home, MANS, MedCEM, Mogul, Our action, Natura, Program for the Environment, Regional Development Agency Bjelasica, Komovi and Prokletije, North Land and the Greens of Montenegro.

Coalition 27 is formed through the project Capacity building for better environment in Montenegro, which North Land implement in partnership with non-governmental organizations Green Home and the Center for Bird Protection and Study from Podgorica, and the Association of Young Ecologists of Niksic and Green Action from Zagreb, Croatia, which is funded by the IPA 2014 Civil Society Facility Program Montenegro.
