The NGO “North Land” held a panel discussion in Petnjica, entitled “How to achieve sustainable development and green economy in the north of Montenegro?”.
As the introduction of the concept of green economy is of great importance for Montenegro, with this event we wanted to bring the concepts of green economy and green entrepreneurship closer to the interested parties.
The participants of the panel were representatives of rural organizations, the Municipality of Petnjica, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – Agro Business Center in Petnjica and farmers.
As local governments do not have enough capacity for the work that awaits them in the negotiation process related to Chapter 11 – Agriculture and Rural Development, but also knowledge in the field of green economy, by organizing the panel we provided the opportunity to hear the voice of the community and identify present problems but also solutions for them.
We believe that through direct dialogue we have established stronger cooperation between the competent local and state authorities and the civil sector / citizens, and farmers in this municipality.
The panel was held through the project NAGE – Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy (Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy), which is approved and funded by the European Union, within the Civil Society and Media 2016-2017, and implemented by the Rural Development Network Montenegro, in cooperation with the rural development networks of Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
