INVITATION FOR AUTOHTONIC PRESERVATION GENETIC RESOURCES IN AGRICULTURE ANNOUNCED

NGO “North Land” from Berane and NGO “Center for Rural Development” from Petnjica want to inform all interested agricultural producers that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, within the Agrobudget for 2019, created the measure “Preserving autochthonous genetic resources in agriculture” and to invite users to submit support requests.
Support is defined as payment for all arable land and breeding flocks that meet the criteria of this measure.
The right to support have producers who grow indigenous species / varieties / breeds and who agree to cooperate with the institution responsible for genetic resources in terms of delivering materials and providing the necessary information.
In plant production support is given:
– for perennial crops: cultivation and care of individual (up to 30) very old olive trees / vineyards of the vine or plantations of the estimated age over 200 years (for olives over 1000 years), cultivation and care of individual trees (up to 30) or plantations of other fruit species / varieties, which are endangered by genetic erosion;
– for one-year crops: growing of vegetable and vegetable crops on an area of more than 0.3 ha per breed.
Cattle-breeding support includes: breeding in cattle breeding; zeta juts, sorghum, beer dogs and sheepskin sheep and domestic Balkan goats and donkeys.
The request for support is submitted to the Ministry exclusively on the form, which can be downloaded on the website and in the offices of the Ministry, along with the Report of the relevant scientific research institution containing: description – history, respect of the principles of good agricultural practice, the name (systematic affiliation), numerical status, area, estimated age, realized and planned type of cooperation with the owner of the genetic resource.
Deadline for submission of applications is June 30, 2019.
